Our ObjectiveWith a population of over 750 million people, Europe is expected to grow into the largest market for herbal medicines, so-called phytopharmaceuticals.
The European industry attaches great importance to the quality and safety of the products. Many EU countries therefore only allow the import and sale of phytopharmaceutical products from manufacturers who are certified according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
OUR APPLICATION
Helvezia Pharma & Medical Care AG has set this standard for quality, sustainability and professionalism from the very beginning. We strive to establish ourselves as a trusted supplier for pharmaceutical manufacturers and exclusively provide high-quality raw materials for research, pharmaceutical and cosmetic production. We focus on B2B business and not on distribution to end consumers or pharmacies. For this purpose, we have implemented a digitalised production facility and use sustainable business practices.

THE COMPANY
Helvezia Pharma & Medical Care AG is a family-run company based in Steinhausen, Switzerland. We specialise in the production of high-quality phytopharmaceutical active ingredients that are used in products by cosmetics manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies as well as for research and development.
We combine extensive knowledge of medicinal plants with state-of-the-art technology to produce innovative and effective products. Through careful selection and sustainable cultivation, we ensure the high quality of our products.
Our commitment extends beyond pure business operations. We are actively committed to protecting the environment and strive to establish sustainable practices throughout the value chain.

Helvezia AG is building plants in Germany and Poland that are as sustainable as possible. By implementing environmentally friendly production processes and integrating resource cycles, Helvezia AG aims to develop CO2-neutral products.
With this innovative production plant, we ensure that the quality of the plant and the ingredients extracted from it is maintained, that maximum uniformity of the processes always leads to the same result, that there is a high degree of traceability and measurability, and that economic efficiency is given equal attention.

Sustainability
Economic and environmental benefits are combined through our sustainability strategy. We counteract the widespread „greenwashing“ in the phytopharmaceutical and natural cosmetics industry by delivering real quality, CO₂-neutrality and transparency.
We rely on targeted approaches and methods to ensure sustainable and ecologically responsible production. Our focus is on energy efficiency, use of renewable energy, reusable materials and indoor cultivation. We strive for closed loops and efficient use of resources in order to produce sustainably in the long term. Through transparency along the value chain, we guarantee our customers demonstrably sustainable products.
Natural Ingredients
Whether an ingredient is considered „natural“ depends on how it was obtained and processed. Helvezia AG uses specific cultivation methods and extraction facilities to maintain the effectiveness of natural ingredients without overusing nature. We focus on the sensible use of resources. Indoor cultivation in protected environments minimises the impact on nature.
We combine natural ingredients with efficient manufacturing processes to reduce the impact on the environment and minimise costly synthesis routes, the use of solvents, chemicals and equipment.
Digitisation
Helvezia AG is pursuing a comprehensive digitalisation strategy that uses software solutions to digitally map the entire plant and enable efficient data management. By using digitally controlled, semi-automated production facilities, we aim to increase quality and efficiency. At the same time, we are creating a global team that is networked via digital platforms.
With our digitalisation strategy, we strive for transparent and efficient production and position ourselves as a pioneer in the phytopharmaceutical healthcare sector. Digitalisation enables optimised process design and improves access to important information for sustainable and future-oriented development.
WE USE THE POWER OF NATURE
PHYTOPHARMACEUTICAL DEVELOPMENT
The world of medicinal plants ranges from kitchen herbs to time-honoured household remedies to basic pharmaceutical substances.
Herbal medicines, phytopharmaceuticals, help, for example, with diseases of the central nervous system, the respiratory tract, the gastrointestinal tract, the cardiovascular system and the urogenital tract, but are also increasingly used in pain therapy and for the treatment of chronic diseases.
The medicinal effect is based on „Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients“ (API) – the active components of the plant. Uniformity and quality are decisive parameters for APIs.
Helvezia AG understands the needs of plants during cultivation and cultivation as well as the resulting requirements for the technical process environment.
Natural or plant-based pure substances are chemical compounds that exist in their pure form and are mainly used in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Natural or plant-based active ingredients are substances derived from plants that have therapeutic or health-promoting properties.
APIs are the starting material for standardised products, as they guarantee higher quality control and thus offer greater reliability for pharmaceutical production. This opens up the possibility of addressing a broader customer base and increasing sales through demand in the scientific, cosmetic and medical sectors.
